Beauty out of Ashes

"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,  he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ." Ephesians 1:7-10

To say this week has been a hard week would be an understatement. I have sat on the sidelines while  people I care about have their world turned upside down. I feel helpless because I know all too well the pain they are going through. I have cried so many tears this week for these sweet people and their heartache and for the heartbreak it has resurfaced for myself. But a sweet coworker and friend reminded me this week that sometimes our world seems like yuck, muck, junk, broken, sadness, hate, anger, and all kinds of other junk but from Gods perspective everything is lining up to create something beautiful.

I think in our hard and broken weeks and daystar from our prospective we see a giant mess that can't be salvaged, but God sees beauty! All we can see is the storm, but little do we know the clouds are breaking and the sun will soon be out again.

Dear God, in the dark painful sad broken moments of this life let us not cry out in anger, but let us cry out for you to shine your light and make beauty out of our ashes and redeem the broken. Lord we praise you in the storm we know all things have its timing and that you are sovereign and can turn any situation into something beautiful to you be the glory. Amen
